STROKE RISK FACTORS
Stroke risk factors that can be changed, treated or controlled are:

  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Obesity
  • Smoking

STROKE WARNING SIGNS
Stroke is a medical emergency; call 9-1-1 immediately if you or someone you know experiences any of the following:

  • Numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Confusion
  • Trouble speaking or understanding
  • Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Difficulty walking
  • Dizziness
  • Loss of balance or coordination
  • Severe headache with no known cause
